Aim for continuous coverage across the entire area where radiant barriers are applied. Gaps or overlaps can diminish the efficacy of the insulation.
4. Ventilation
Maintain adequate ventilation in the attic. This helps to ensure that any trapped heat does not accumulate and negate the benefits of the radiant barrier.
5. Combination with Other Insulation
Radiant barriers work best when combined with traditional insulation types like fiberglass or spray foam. This combination provides both thermal resistance and reflects radiant heat.
